Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone for the "Bramha" BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. 

The greenfield rail coach factory, being developed by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) with an investment of Rs 1,800 crore, is a significant step towards boosting indigenous rail infrastructure.

The state-of-the-art facility, which will be built on a 148-acre site, will manufacture coaches for Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and metro trains. 

The plant is expected to generate over 5,000 jobs and will play a crucial role in strengthening India's self-reliance in the rail sector.

The first coach is slated to roll out within 18 months, with the plant's capacity gradually scaling up to 1,100 coaches annually.
