CtrlS Datacentres has unveiled plans for a significant investment of Rs 4,000 crore to establish a hyperscale datacentre complex in Chennai.

This latest initiative marks the fifth hyperscale datacentre complex for the company in India, following successful ventures in Mumbai, Noida, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CtrlS Datacenters, said, "We are allocating Rs 4,000 crore towards our Chennai campus, which is expected to create 500 direct job opportunities and over 9,000 indirect employment prospects."

Situated in the Ambattur industrial area, the campus will feature two datacentre buildings boasting a collective built-up area of nearly one million square feet and a substantial 72-megawatt IT load capacity.

"The inaugural datacentre building, Chennai DC 1, has already reached full capacity and is slated to commence operations in the second quarter of this calendar year. Meanwhile, the second datacentre building, Chennai DC 2, is scheduled for completion in the latter half of the year, with bookings currently being accepted," Pinnapureddy elaborated.
