Borosil Renewables board has approved the revised expansion project worth Rs 950 crore to increase its solar glass production capacity by 600 tonne per day (TPD).

The expansion will involve the installation of two new furnaces of 300 TPD each at its Bharuch facility in Gujarat, which currently has a capacity of 1,000 TPD. 

The company originally planned an investment of Rs 675 crore for 500 TPD, but revised the scope in light of anticipated favourable market conditions.

The company expects that the enhanced capacity will lead to higher production and sales, positioning it to better serve the growing domestic solar market.
