Power Generation  -  May 27,2025  -

BMW Industries has commissioned two new tube mills and a 1.28 MW rooftop solar power plant worth Rs 50 crore at its facility in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Executive In Charge of the Tubes Division at Tata Steel, Sanjay Surajprakash Sahni, alongside senior BMW Industries officials and industry dignitaries.
The addition of the tube mills will increase the plant’s annual manufacturing capacity by 60,000 MT, raising total capacity to approx.6,00,000 MT.

The rooftop solar installation is designed to supply a portion of the facility’s internal energy requirements, reducing dependence on conventional power sources and advancing BMW Industries’ environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.

By integrating renewable energy, the company aims to lower its carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency in its manufacturing processes.
