Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a Rs. 5,400 crore order for a coal gasification project in Odisha. 

The project aims to convert coal into syngas and value-added chemical products, aligning with India’s clean coal and energy transition strategy. 

BHEL will execute the project on an engineering, procurement, and construction basis. 

The order strengthens the company’s industrial process portfolio. It also supports the government’s objective of reducing crude oil and chemical imports
