Power Generation  -  Apr 30,2025  -

Avaada Group has entered into a strategic partnership with the Maharashtra Government to establish two large-scale pumped storage hydroelectric projects, with a combined capacity of 3,600 MW, requiring an investment of Rs 15,100 crore.

These projects, namely the 2,400 MW Pawana Falyan and the 1,200 MW Sirsala, are expected to create more than 3,800 direct employment while significantly contributing to the state’s energy resilience and renewable integration.

The pumped storage systems will facilitate grid stability by enabling energy storage and balancing power supply from intermittent renewable sources, ensuring consistent electricity generation and supply.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said,“Maharashtra aims to become the Green Energy Hub of India. All signed MoUs must translate into swift execution on the ground, and the government will ensure complete support to developers to fast-track these transformational projects."

The Chief Minister reiterated the state's commitment to fostering clean energy and driving economic growth through sustainable development.
