Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has proposed the creation of a dedicated metal cluster in North Andhra to accelerate industrial activity in the Visakhapatnam region. 

The cluster aims to draw investments across metals, machinery, and downstream manufacturing, supporting the state’s broader push for industrial diversification. 

The initiative is expected to create new employment avenues and strengthen value-addition within the metals sector. 

It also complements Andhra Pradesh’s plan to revive its industrial corridors and expand export-oriented manufacturing. 

The proposed cluster is likely to encourage more private players to set up fabrication, forging, and heavy-engineering units in the region. 

This initiative may also enhance port-linked trade through nearby Visakhapatnam Port.
