The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a Rs. 29,253 crore project for development of a shipbuilding cluster at Dugarajapatnam.

The project will be implemented through a special purpose vehicle to develop shipbuilding and maritime infrastructure.

Officials said the cluster will attract investments in ship construction, repair, and marine engineering.

The development is expected to boost coastal industrial activity and create employment.

The initiative forms part of the state’s strategy to strengthen maritime and port-led industrial growth.
