The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has floated tenders to develop a Bio-CNG plant that will convert organic waste into compressed biogas, reducing landfill dependence and supporting cleaner mobility. 

The project is part of the city’s broader waste-management strategy to enhance resource recovery and promote circular-economy solutions. 

Once operational, the plant is expected to supply Bio-CNG for municipal vehicles and public transport applications. 

It also positions Ahmedabad as a major urban centre adopting green fuel ecosystems.
