Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has laid the foundation stone for the Tuirini hydel project near Aizawl.

The project is part of the state’s efforts to strengthen renewable power generation capacity.

Once completed, it is expected to reduce Mizoram’s dependence on electricity imports.

Hydropower remains a critical resource for the state’s long-term energy security.

The project will also generate local employment during construction and operational phases.
