Executive Summary

INOX Solar is planning to establish a new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assembly plant in Dhenkanal, Odisha, with a proposed investment of ₹2,830 million. The project will involve setting up a state-of-the-art 5 GWh BESS facility to support large-scale renewable energy integration. In August 2025, the company received investment approval for this initiative from the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA).Alongside the BESS project, INOX Solar is also developing a large-scale solar manufacturing facility in Odisha. As of September 2025, the project scope includes: Construction of an industrial building for a 4.8 GW Solar Module plant and a 4.8 GW Photovoltaic (PV) solar unit. An estimated investment of ₹31,615.439 million. The construction phase for this solar project is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and is expected to be completed by January 2028.For regulatory compliance, the project has been submitted to the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) for environmental clearance.
