Executive Summary

A steel plant in Orissa is being expanded with an estimated cost of Rs. 34,050 million to increase its capacity from 0.97 MTPA to 1.774 MTPA semi-finished steel and from 0.912 to 2.022 MTPA finished steel. The project includes the establishment of SMS-II via IF route 920 T and ladle refining furnace 3 45 T, with an investment of Rs. 250 million. The environmental clearance for the project is currently underway, which includes the installation of additional 3x600 TPD DRI, 3x75TPH WHRB based power plant (65 MW), iron ore beneficiation plant and pellet plant, with an investment of Rs. 4150 million.
