The Goa Investment Promotion Board (IPB) has given the green light to nine projects with a cumulative investment of Rs 733 crore.

Chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant, who chaired the 38th Board Meeting of the IPB, stated that the approved projects span various sectors, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, warehousing, machine tools production, and beverage manufacturing.

Sawant, along with industries minister Mauvin Godinho, emphasized the need for prioritizing local employment. Industry representatives on the board were urged to collaborate with government agencies to facilitate skill development programmes for Goans.

Among the notable approvals, Procter & Gamble’s subsidiary, Gillette Diversified Operations Pvt Ltd, has received clearance for an expansion to manufacture multi-vitamin tablets and food-grade softgel capsules. Similarly, Zydus Lifesciences Ltd will be setting up a new unit to manufacture Repsules.
