The Union Cabinet has approved two new semiconductor manufacturing units involving investments worth Rs. 3,936 crore under the India Semiconductor Mission.

With these approvals, the total number of semiconductor projects cleared under the programme has risen to 12.

India is intensifying efforts to build a domestic semiconductor ecosystem amid growing global supply chain diversification.

The projects are expected to boost electronics manufacturing capabilities and reduce reliance on imported semiconductor components.
