Bihar Cabinet approves Bhagalpur industrial corridor

Industrial Products  -  Aug 08,2025  -

The Bihar Cabinet has given its approval for the development of a major industrial corridor in Bhagalpur and an industrial area in Gopalganj.

These projects, along with other key infrastructure initiatives, are designed to stimulate industrial growth and create employment opportunities across the state.

The Bhagalpur corridor will involve acquisition of 97 acres, with 96.89 acres of government land to be transferred to the Industries Department.

Gopalganj's 32.66-acre project will be developed by BIADA using land from two Vijayapur block villages. Industrial areas in Aurangabad, Katihar, Nalanda, Muzaffarpur, and Supaul will be expanded by 2,417 acres at a cost of Rs 1,038 crore.

Additionally, a planned solar project in Pirpainti will be replaced by a thermal power project (3x800 MW) on a 33-year lease. Several appointments and departmental restructurings were also cleared.

The move is a part of the government's push to attract investments and establish a robust industrial base in Bihar.

The new corridors and industrial zones will provide a favorable environment for businesses, complete with essential amenities and logistical support.
