Varindera Construction bags order worth Rs 442 crore

A contract order/letter of acceptance (LoA) worth Rs 442 crore was issued by the South Western Railway (SWR) of Indian Railways to Varindera Construction Pvt. Ltd. for the redevelopment of Bengaluru Cantonment Railway station as part of Indian Railways’ station redevelopment scheme on December 12, 2022.

In order to renovate the station, an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) model will be used. The rehabilitation project is anticipated to be finished in 36 months.

In June 2022, a request for proposals (RFP) for the reconstruction of Delhi Cantt Railway Station with a projected construction cost of Rs. 525 crore was released.

Significant elements of the proposed renovated station include centralised air conditioning, multi-level parking, a wastewater treatment facility, rainwater collecting, and solar energy. The intended suburban rail network will be integrated with the station by the SWR as well.
