Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, laid the groundwork for the Agra Metro rail tunnel at RamlilaMaidan in front of the Agra Fort.
On his arrival at RamlilaMaidan’s launching shaft, the CM signed the ring segment, offered prayers, and then pressed the button, formally kicking off tunnel construction. The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) in Agra is named after the rivers Ganga and Yamuna.
Every day, this tunnel boring machine will prepare up to 10-12 metres of tunnel. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Corporation plans to build two parallel tunnels for the up and down track in the Agra Metro’s underground section.
