UK-Based Specialty Chemicals Manufacturer to Invest INR 500 Crore in Dahej Greenfield Facility

Croda India, a subsidiary of the UK-based specialty chemicals manufacturer Croda International, has announced plans to invest INR 500 crore in a greenfield facility in Dahej, Gujarat. The proposed facility will manufacture a range of speciality chemicals, catering to various sectors such as personal care, healthcare, and crop care.

According to a statement by the company, the new facility will have a production capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes per annum and will be equipped with advanced technologies, including renewable energy sources, to ensure sustainability and minimize the environmental impact.

The investment is expected to create employment opportunities for local residents, with approximately 150 direct and indirect jobs expected to be generated during the construction phase and over 200 full-time positions once the plant is operational.

Croda India’s Managing Director, Anurag Srivastava, said, “This investment in a new, state-of-the-art facility demonstrates our commitment to supporting the growing demand for speciality chemicals in India, and to providing our customers with sustainable solutions. We look forward to working with the local community and authorities as we bring this project to life.”

The company has stated that it aims to begin construction in the next few months, with operations expected to commence by 2024. With this new facility, Croda India aims to strengthen its position as a leading player in the Indian speciality chemicals market.
