Two Delhi-based companies to investRs 295 crore in Chhattisgarh

Two Delhi-based companies would invest Rs 295 crore in Chhattisgarh to build ethanol and power plants as well as nutritional supplements and fortified grains.

In order to establish the plants, the government and Unity Industries Private Limited and Suruchi Foods Private Limited have signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs).

920 people in the state might get work thanks to both plans.

Officials from the industry department said that Unity Industries secured a contract for the extraction of ethanol. The business will contribute Rs. 183 crore. The project will provide jobs for about 120 individuals.

The facility will be able to produce 120,000 kilo litres annually (KLPA).

In another MoU, Suruchi Foods signed an agreement for producing supplementary nutrition products and fortified rice, in which the company will invest Rs 111.7 crore. This industry will provide employment to 800, the officials said.

With the aim to eradicate malnutrition and anaemia among women and children, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to distribute fortified rice in all the districts of the state It will be distributed to ration card holders from April 2023 through fair-price shops.

Some ration card holders will be receiving fortified rice in place of normal rice that is being provided now.
