Torrent Power said that it has won a contract with NTPC VidyutVyaparNigal Ltd (NVVN) to deliver 920 MW of gas-based energy from its DGEN and SUGEN plants.
The nodal agency for the procurement of up to 4,000 MW of power from gas-based plants during the defined crunch period (April 10, 2023 to May 16, 2023, with actual offtake for 21 days) had been named by the power ministry as NVVN. On March 10, 2023, the NVVN floated a tender for this.
According to a BSE filing, Torrent Power took part in the electronic reverse auction (eRA) that followed the e-tender and received 920 MW (770 MW from the DGEN plant and 150 MW from the SUGEN plant).
The filing was a clarification to a news item on the award of power supply contract to the Torrent Power under the tender floated by the NVVN.
