Six new industrial estates in TN to become operational in 2-3 months

T M Anbarasan, Tamil Nadu Minister for MSME, said that the six new industrial parks constructed in various regions of the state would become operational over the next two to three months. He stated that further facilities are being planned to advance the industry.

The minister said the new estates in Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvallur, Madurai, Chengalpet, Cuddalore, and Thoothukudi were being set up on 496 acres at a cost of 276 crore while delivering the opening address at a webinar organised by The Times of India and MSME Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau, (M-TIPB), a TN government enterprise, on the occasion of MSME Day.

Pointing out that the government had taken several initiatives for the growth of MSMEs, he said it was also focusing on developing private industrial estates, creating common facility centres.

“Export zones will be set up in 10 places including Hosur, Coimbatore and Trichy.” The rates of expensive unsold plots in Tansidco industrial estates were revised, resulting in establishment of MSME entities. “After the cost of such plots reduced, 761 plots have been sold to set up micro and small enterprises,” he said.
