Reliance Industries to construct 10 GW solar plant in Andhra Pradesh

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, disclosed intentions to develop a 10-gigawatt solar energy plant in Andhra Pradesh during the Global Investors Conference 2023 in Visakhapatnam. The initiative is anticipated to bring 50,000 new job opportunities to the state and support Reliance’s retail business’s efforts to increase sales of goods created in Andhra. Ambani also emphasised the company’s over 1.5 lakh crore investment in the KG D-6 gas field in the Krishna-Godavari basin, which is supporting India’s shift to sustainable energy and producing roughly 30% of the nation’s gas. Reliance Retail has also worked with over 120,000 kirana traders across 6,000 villages in Andhra Pradesh, generating over 20,000 direct jobs and increasing the state’s supply of manufactured commodities and agri- and agro-based items.
