NHPC floats tender for Dugar Hydro Electric Project

The NHPC has issued a tender for the construction of the 500 MW Dugar Hydroelectric Project. The power plant is located in Luj Village, Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district.

The winning bidder would have 64 months to finish the project at a cost of Rs 2,730.63 crore.

Dugar Hydroelectric Project is a run of the river scheme proposed along the river Chenab in Pangi Valley, Himachal Pradesh.

Chenab River enters Pangi valley of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh near Bhujind and leaves the district at SansariNala to enter Paddar valley of Kashmir.

The sources of runoff in the Chenab basin are both rain and snowmelt. Chenab is the sub-basin of the Indus River System.
