NCRTC completes installation of Longest Steel Span For Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor

The NCRTC has completed the installation of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor’s largest steel span (bridge) to cross the metro line and traffic bridge near Ghaziabad station.

The steel span, often known as the bridge, is 150 metres long and weighs around 3200 tonnes. This bridge is supported by three 25-meter-high pillars. The steel span is part of a 17-kilometer priority segment between Sahibabad and Duhai that is expected to open in 2023.

Another section of India’s first RRTS corridor between Delhi and Meerut has been completed with the successful installation of this steel span. To construct this steel span, eight girders were laid parallel to each other, and track laying work will begin soon.

Through the span, NCRTC has connected the viaduct coming from the Sahibabad side with the platform of Ghaziabad station. With the completion of this span, the viaduct between Sahibabad station and Ghaziabad station is now complete.
