Modi to lay foundation stones for elevated road and ship repair facility in Pandu port

As part of a bigger programme of work aimed at revitalising the region’s inland waterways, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will essentially lay the cornerstones for two key projects.

According to sources, one of these proposals involves constructing a ship repair facility at the Pandu multi-modal station. The Indian Waterways Transport, the Government of Assam, the Inland Waterways Authority of India, the Indian Army, and commercial operators will all be able to service their ships at this facility, saving time and money in the process.

The construction of an elevated road linking the Pandu multi-modal terminal with National Highway 27 in Guwahati is the other initiative. This will allow for quick, seamless connectivity around the clock, making it a viable business option for cargo operators.
