Meghmani Finechem Commissions India’s First Epichlorohydrin Plant

The epichlorohydrin (ECH) facility with a capacity of 50,000 TPA has been successfully commissioned by Meghmani Finechem Limited (MFL), a maker of chlor-alkali and its value-added derivatives. Despite a difficult external context, the facility is completed on schedule and within budget.

Meghmani Finechem Ltd is the first firm in India to install an ECH plant, which is presently only available as a completely imported product. MFL’s involvement in this product is in keeping with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. This would lessen ECH consumers’ reliance on imports, allowing the government to conserve foreign exchange reserves.

ECH may be made using either the propylene or glycerin processes, with the latter being the most ecologically beneficial.
