Magod laser announces opening of eighth facility in Tamilnadu

Magod Laser, a company that specialises in laser-based manufacturing processes, has announced the opening of its eighth facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

With roughly 400 employees, the Bengaluru-based firm runs seven facilities spanning Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. The Hosur branch, according to its co-founder Swamy Magod, will open in three months since the area is booming with industrial activity and they see a lot of economic potential there.

He said that the business has been encouraging the use of laser-based manufacturing techniques in manufacturing facilities, such as laser cutting, laser welding, laser cladding, laser drilling, laser hardening, and 3D metal printing.

Laser application is expanding fast in India, but there are not many institutions that offer training in laser application related skills to meet the industry demand.

“We have been training laser operators and engineers for the industry and have so far trained over 400 laser operators and engineers,” he said, adding that they plan to do more in this regard.
