L&T Construction’s PT&D Business bags order for 765KV and 400KV gas insulated substations in Gujarat

Several domestic EPC orders have been obtained by Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Company.

Huge Renewable Energy (RE) zones, which house numerous solar and wind projects from diverse developers in contiguous land parcels, are being created as the nation’s power generation changes.

Such small-scale projects each generate their own electricity, which is then gathered in nearby pooling substations and redistributed to intra-state and inter-state transmission networks.

The Khavda RE park in Gujarat’s Kutch region is one such RE zone that would be among the biggest of its kind worldwide. In order to act as pooling substations, the PT&D Company has been given the go-ahead to build 765kV and 400kV gas-insulated substations in the Khavda RE zone.
