The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority selected Larsen & Toubro as the lowest bidder to build a new bridge between Nariman Point and Cuffe Parade (close to Colaba) (MMRDA)
As mentioned earlier this week, this 1.77 km (4 lane) bridge would connect Captain PrakashPetheMarg near Cuffe Parade Station, the southern terminus of the Mumbai Metro’s Aqua Line, with Marine Drive, where the 29.80 km Mumbai Coastal Road terminates further up north (Line-3).
In November 2022, MMRDA issued a call for bids for the civil construction of the bridge, with a projected cost of Rs. 315 crore and a target completion date of 30 months (or 2.5 years).
