LSB Industries plans 30 MW electrolysers to produce Green Ammonia

LSB Industries Inc, a US industrial and agricultural chemicals firm, has announced plans to build two types of electrolysers totaling 30 MW at its Pryor, Oklahoma plant in two phases, with the goal of producing 30,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year.

The project will be implemented by thyssenkrupp Uhde USA LLC, a subsidiary of Thyssenkrupp AG in Germany, and Bloom Energy.

Thyssenkrupp Uhde’s engineering design will transform Pryor’s present grey ammonia capacity to green ammonia.

Bloom will then build a 10 megawatt solid oxide electrolyser, the world’s largest of its sort when finished.

This electrolyser will be owned, operated, and maintained by Bloom, with hydrogen production planned to commence in 2023.
