As soon as the land acquisition is over, the development work for the forthcoming greenfield international airport at Bhogapuram would pick up speed.
K Mayur Ashok, Joint Collector, Vizianagaram, stated: “We have just finished the full land purchase for the airport along with the preparations for the people’s rehabilitation in four villages.
For the future airport, which will be built at Bhogapuram on the Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Srikakulam line, a little more than 2,200 acres were purchased.
It is roughly 45 kilometres from Visakhapatnam city and 25 km from Vizianagaram and is located on the boundary of the districts of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
