Kia Motors to increase production in Andhra Pradesh

South Korea’s Kia Motors will soon launch a third shift at its plant in Andhra Pradesh, thanks to a reduction in semiconductor supply limitations, in order to fulfil rising demand for its automobiles.

On the back of the newly released multi-purpose vehicle Kia Carens, which has been priced aggressively between Rs 8.99-16.99 lakh, the company intends to expand output by a third to 3,00,000 units in FY23.

With this, Kia India’s initial capacity of 3,00,000 units at its Andhra Pradesh factory will be fully utilised. Initial plans call for an additional 1,00,000 units to be added to the capacity.
