IREDA inks mega deal with SJVN Green Energy for solar power project

A financing agreement for $4,444.71 crore has been signed by the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) and SJVN Green Energy, a division of SJVN Ltd, for a 1,000 megawatt (MW) solar power plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The IREDA-funded project will link to Bikaner-400/220 II’s KV substation (near Bikaner).

A statement from IREDA said, “We are pleased to sanction IREDA’s highest loan amount to SGEL for development of the 1,000 MW solar project. We will be able to support the government to achieve its targets of fifty percent share of energy from non-fossil fuels by 2030 through this kind of cooperation. This partnership will encourage green investment and generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities”.
