Indore Municipality Corporation to get two more sewage treatment plants

The construction of two more sewage treatment plants (STPs) in the city has begun after the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) completed significant rectification and channelization of the city’s sewerage system.

In the Sirpur area, a 20 mld initial STP has been proposed and construction has already begun.

According to IMC assistant commissioner Sandeep Soni, work has already begun on the second STP that has been proposed for the Palasia region.

If all goes according to plan, the two STPs would be installed and operational within a year after being planned for at a cost of Rs. 50 crore.

Soni said that a dedicated 10km long pipeline network has also been planned in Sirpur area to collect sewer from Hawa Bangla, Footi Kothi, Dwarkapuri, Prajapat Nagar, Sai Baba Nagar, Shraddhapuri, Vidur Nagar and nearby colonies of west part of the city.
