Hitachi secures Chennai Metro Rail tender worth Rs 1,620 crore

The task of installing signalling and train control systems that would permit operation of driverless trains on the118.9km phase-2 corridors has been given to a consortium made up of Hitachi Rail STS SPA and Hitachi Rail STS India Pvt Limited.

The 1,620cr deal is Chennai Metro Rail Limited‘s largest signalling tender to date (CMRL). Phase 2 of the 118.9 118.9km phase-2 corridors has been given to a consortium made up of Hitachi Rail STS SPA and  km three-corridor project should be completed by 2026.

The design, production, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the signaling, train control, and video management systems for phase-2 are covered by the contract
