Hindustan Copper seeks to appoint mine developer for re-opening of Rakha Copper Mine

In order to reopen and expand the Rakha Copper Mine, develop and operate the Chapri underground mine, and commission a new concentrator plant at the Indian Copper Complex in Jharkhand with a matching capacity, Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL) is seeking to appoint a mine developer-cum-operator on a revenue-sharing basis.

According to Arun Kumar Shukla, CMD of HCL, the organisation has been tasked with making sure that the nation’s copper resources are used effectively and sustainably, and as part of that, it is seeking to increase its ore production capacity. The Malanjkhand Copper Project in Madhya Pradesh is expanding its underground mine, and the state government has extended the lease’s expiration date for copper mining until August 2043.

The company has enhanced its focus on depth exploration within its mining lease areas.
