Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation likely to commence Phase II trial run in June

In June or July of this year, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation plans to start the Phase II trial run of the Ahmedabad metro project, which will link Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

The finished section links Gandhinagar’s GIFT City to the Gujarat National Law University. It measures 5.4 kilometres. Corridor 2 of Phase 2 of the Metro project is what it is known as.

The 22.8 km-long, unfinished Corridor 1 is the other one. From Motera Stadium, it travels to Mahatma Mandir.

There will be 22 stations along the 28.2km-long Phase II of the metro project.

The officials anticipate conducting the trial run of 20.8km of Phase II in June or July this year, with the remaining 7.4km stretch from Sector 1 to Mahatma Mandir expected to be tested in December.
