GAIL begins India’s first project of mixing hydrogen into CGD network

An official announcement revealed that GAIL (India) Limited has started India’s first project of mixing hydrogen into the natural gas system in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

This is the country’s first-of-its-kind enterprise. Avantika Gas Limited, a joint venture between GAIL and HPCL that operates in Indore, would get the hydrogen blended natural gas.

GAIL has begun hydrogen blending as a pilot project to determine the techno-commercial viability of mixing hydrogen in the CGD network, in accordance with the National Hydrogen Mission.
