Cement major puts two facilities into operation

A nine MW waste heat recovery (WHR) plant and a 1.36 million TPA clinker facility have been put into operation by Shiva Cement (SCL) in the Sundargarh district of Odisha.

The State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) has already approved the operation of nine MW of WHRS and 0.66 million tpa of clinker; the company is still awaiting approval for the remaining capacity.

Presently, SCL is evaluating the site location to set up a grinding manufacturing unit with a capacity of one million tpa, which is kept on hold.

In addition, the work on alternate fuel systems, railway siding and overland belt conveyor (OLBC) is progressing well according to the schedule.
