Bidding on transmission projects at three solar energy zones in Karnataka, AP to commence soon

The bidding for three solar energy zones in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh (AP) that require

transmission lines with a 6 GW capacity will soon resume.

The National Committee on Transmission (NCT) meeting last month is when the decision was

made. One of the three transmission plans is for the solar energy park in Bidar, Karnataka, while

the other two are for the solar energy parks in Anantapur and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.

The sun energy zones in Kurnool and Ananthapuram (formerly Anantapur) each have a capacity

of 1 GW and 2.5 GW, respectively. The solar energy zone in Bidar has a capacity of 2.5 GW.

During the meeting of the NCT, it was informed that deliberations were held on November 3

between the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) Central Transmission Utility of India

(CTUIL), Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) on

resumption of the bidding process.
