296 MW Fatehgarh Solar PV Project becomes operational

Following a successful commissioning, the 48.8 MW fifth component capacity of the 296 MW Fatehgarh Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, is declared to be operational beginning at 00:00 on August 5, 2022. 296 MW’s full capacity has now been put into operation.

As a result, NTPC’s commercially installed standalone capacity has increased to 54818 MW, while its commercially installed group capacity has increased to 69183 MW.

NTPC developed the PV project under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase II. It won the project through viability gap funding (VGF) based competitive bidding in an auction by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in 2019
