BrahMos Aerospace, the Indo-Russian joint venture and a leader in cruise missile technology, is planning to establish a new missile manufacturing unit in Jayantipuram, Jaggayyapeta. 

Officials from the company have reportedly inspected the proposed site, which is part of a larger defense cluster planned by the central government.

The location is considered highly suitable for a defense industry cluster due to its proximity to the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway and its excellent rail, road, and air connectivity. 

This new unit would mark a significant step in the company's expansion plans, building on its existing production centers in Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and a recently inaugurated facility in Lucknow. 

The proposed plant is expected to boost India's defense manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the country's self-reliance in the defense sector.
