AMPIN eyes Rs. 1,000 crore clean-energy investment in West Bengal

Power Generation  -  Dec 11,2025  -

AMPIN Energy Transition is planning an investment of over Rs. 1,000 crore in West Bengal, targeting solar-cell manufacturing, battery-storage assembly and large-scale solar projects to build an eastern India clean-energy cluster.

The company is scouting 15–20 acres for a 1–2 GW solar-cell facility and intends to split capex across manufacturing and captive power assets, with a view to supply regional data-centres and industrial customers.

If realised, the investment would generate significant employment and plug gaps in domestic solar value chains, while supporting state decarbonisation goals.

AMPIN’s move reflects broader investor interest in diversifying India’s renewable manufacturing base beyond the west and south.
