Tata Power Solar Wins 300 MW Solar Project Contract from NLC India in Tamil Nadu

Tata Power Solar, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has been awarded a 300 MW solar project by NLC India Limited (NLCIL). The project, which is located in the state of Tamil Nadu, is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

According to a press release from Tata Power Solar, the company will be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the solar project. The project will utilize both photovoltaic (PV) and floating solar technologies.

The project is part of NLCIL’s plan to expand its renewable energy portfolio and achieve a total installed capacity of 9,221 MW by 2040. The company is also planning to set up additional solar and wind projects in the future.

Tata Power Solar has a long-standing relationship with NLCIL and has previously executed several solar projects for the company. The company has also worked on several other large-scale solar projects in India, including the 150 MW Ayana project in Andhra Pradesh and the 105 MWp project in Karnataka.

The 300 MW solar project is expected to generate clean energy and reduce carbon emissions, contributing to India’s goal of achieving 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
