A subsidiary of the Japanese company Shibaura Machine, Shibaura Machine India Private Ltd (SMI), plans to invest Rs 225 crore in India to increase its manufacturing capacity in Chennai.
About 1200 injection moulding machines and related products are produced annually by the company to serve the needs of the automotive, electrical, furniture, toys, preforms, PVC, household products, material handling, and other industries.
The corporation has operations in more than 45 nations, including the SAARC area, the Middle East, East & West Africa, and North America. With this investment, SMI’s manufacturing capacity is anticipated to gradually increase to 3200 machines annually.
