New Coke Oven Projects in India

 

  • Jivraj Coke is planning to take up non-recovery coke oven plant expansion project in Lunva, Bhachau, Kutch, Gujarat. The project involves expanding the non-recovery coke oven plant to produce Low Ash Metallurgical Coke with capacity 90000 MT/Annum. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.100 million. As of January 2020, environment clearance for the project is underway.
  • KIOCL is planning to take up new coke oven plant in Magalore, Karnataka. The project involves setting up coke oven plant. As of March 2020, company has received green clearance for the project. The clearance is subject to specific conditions stated in an approval letter and sector specific general conditions as per the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change’s Office Memorandum.
  • SU Mangala Coke is planning to take up coke oven manufacturing unit expansion project in Lunva, Bhachau, Kutch, Gujarat. The project involves expansion low ash metallurgical coke manufacturing unit. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.125 million. As of March 2020, environment clearance for the project is underway.
  • Paradip Calciner is planning to take up a new calcined petroleum coke manufacturing project in Udayabasta Dochakki, Jagatsinghpur, Odisha. The project involves installation of rotary kiln II of capacity 400 TPD for production of calcined petroleum coke 1.2 Lakh TPA. The project is estimated to cost Rs.652.1 million. As of May 2020, the company has received consent from the state pollution control authorities to establish the project
  • Mahabir Petro Products is planning to take up a new CPC coke unit in Industrial Area Baraun, Tilrath, Anchal-Baraun, Begusarai, Bihar. The project involves installation of CPC Coke Unit with capacity 24000 MT/Year. The project is estimated to cost Rs.25 million. As of August 2020, the company has received consent from the state pollution control authorities to establish the project
  • Kalyani Steels is planning to take up new coke making facility in Koppal, Karnataka. The project involves install a coke making facility and heat recovery captive power plant, adjacent to its steel plant. The project involves setting up of a 200,000 TPA non-recovery/heat recovery, stamp charged coke oven with modified wet quenching of hot coke and 15-17 MW captive power plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.2110 million hich will be funded by way of debt and internal accruals. The commissioning of this project is expected in September 2022.. As of February 2021, pre project activities are going on.
  • Jindal Coke is planning to take up Coke production expansion project in Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex (KNIC), Jajpur, Odisha. The project involves expansion of coke production from 0.425 MTPA to 0.78 MTPA by installation of a new Stamp charge by-product recovery coke oven battery (COBP#2) in the existing steel plant. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.2700 million. As of April 2021, environment clearance for the project is underway.
  • Adani Enterprises is planning to take up coal to poly-vinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Vandh & Tunda, Taluka Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat. The project involves establishment of coal to poly-vinyl chloride (PVC) plant with capacity PVC Unit: 2000 KTPA, Coke Oven Unit/ Coal Pyrolysis Unit: 2030 KTPA, Chlor-Alkali Plant: 1310 KTPA. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.292000 million. As of April 2021, forest clearance for the project is underway.
  • Numaligarh Refinery is planning to take up delayed coker unit revamp project in India. The project involves enhancing the capacity of current DCU from 0.306 MMTPA to 0.560 MMTPA as well as enabling it to process tougher feed. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1110 million. As of July 2021, Engineers India has received a project for execution of Revamp of Delayed Coker Unit (DCU) from Numaligarh Refinery. EIL shall execute this project as Licensor cum Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM) Consultant.
