A contract to construct turbo engines in collaboration with the Gas Turbine Research Engine Centre at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) lab has been awarded to Godrej Aerospace, a Godrej & Boyce business entity.
According to Maneck Eddie Behramkamdin, AVP and Business Head at Godrej Aerospace, the company has an order for eight modules with six engines, and the goal is to complete the first phase of development by the beginning of 2024. The other modules, according to him, would be supplied over the course of 27 to 30 months.
Godrej Aerospace will build a $250 billion factory close to Mumbai.
