Parliament was informed that a flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) technology to manage pollution has been installed for NTPC NSE -1.57 percent’s 1340 MW coal-fired thermal power capacity, while work is underway at 38 facilities with a combined capacity of roughly 60GW.
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Power Minister R K Singh stated that NTPC’s total FGD commissioned capacity is 1,340 MW.
According to him, FGD systems are being installed in NTPC’s 38 facilities (127 units) across the country, totaling 60GW of thermal power overall capacity.
